"From Stone" is an exploration of the way we look at tradition figure statues and sculptures. The inspiration for this series comes from two things I've learned about sculpture in Greece. The first, that at one point all of the marble statues in Greece were in fact painted with elaborate designs and details. This series attempts to bring back some of this detail, and colour. The second is about examining how sculptors plan for their work. I believe that although artwork often looks random and unplanned, the artists mind and sometimes their pencil are constantly planning and working out ideas.

With these photography/mixed media pieces these sculptures are brought back to life with the addition of colour and offer a glimpse back into the sketches that might have been.
